Bio of the therapist

A Psychologist and PhD Researcher in Psychological Counseling with more than 9 years of experience in psychotherapy, counseling, and psychosocial support. She specializes in helping individuals cope with a wide range of mental health concerns and recover from the psychological effects of trauma, violence, war, and loss through evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's unique needs.

Her clinical expertise includes the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, sleep disorders, eating disorders, body image concerns, family and relationship difficulties, trauma-related challenges, grief and loss, self-blame, and the psychological consequences of violence and abuse. She is committed to helping clients develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen emotional resilience, and improve their overall well-being.

Nermin's therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), two scientifically supported approaches that are particularly effective in treating trauma-related conditions, anxiety, and depression. She received specialized training in both CBT and CPT through Damascus University.

She holds a Master's degree in Psychological Counseling and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in the same field. Her dedication to ongoing professional and academic development allows her to provide high-quality psychological care based on the latest evidence-based practices.

In addition to her clinical work, Nermin actively contributes to mental health awareness by delivering psychoeducational and counseling sessions focused on trauma, anxiety, depression, and healthy coping strategies. She has worked extensively with populations affected by war, violence, and displacement, designing and implementing evidence-based individual and group interventions. She is also committed to promoting help-seeking behaviors and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health treatment in communities impacted by crises and trauma.
